#FindVanessaGuillen Phone Banking Session
Vanessa Guillen went missing from Fort Hood Army Base in Texas after a phone call with her mother. On that call, she detailed her experience with Military Sexual Trauma (MST) from a superior in her chain of command. She disclosed to her mother that she was scared of reporting him because others had done so and nothing was done to address their concerns. She also feared retaliation. She went missing soon after that phone call. It has been a few months and she still remains missing.
Vanessa's story hits so close to home for our community as so many of us have been in her situation. While we can empathize with her story, we must act. This is a time for us to come together and do something. We can! We don't have to sit on the sidelines and hope justice avails. We have the ability to make a difference. We know more than anyone else what she was dealing with. Join us this Saturday, June 20th, 2020 from 12 PM to 2 PM eastern for a phone banking session.
During this time we will prepare to call our elected officials and email them urging them to find Vanessa Guillen and enact laws that protect service members and veterans from Military Sexual Trauma (MST). As it will be Saturday and their offices will be closed, we will use this time to help prepare volunteers for how to engage and what next steps they can take to drive results to help find Vanessa Guillen and add better protections for those who have experienced MST. We want to ensure we find Vanessa as well as ensure that no one else suffers.
Sign up to volunteer for our #FindVanessaGuillen Phone Banking Session as we fight to #EndMST!
